Reports may evidence a national security threat.
The Department of Defense announced that it is establishing a new group to investigate reports on the presence of UFOs in restricted airspace. They plan to collect and analyze reports following an acknowledgment by the government earlier this year that such reports are worth studying and the UFO phenomena may pose a national security threat.
The group will study UFOs, formally known as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) across the military branches and other government agencies. The Navy previously led the UAP Task Force, but no other service had a similar effort to catalog and analyze sightings of the UFOs. Most of the 144 sightings covered in an earlier government report were recorded by Navy pilots.
The new unified group, called the Airborne Object Identification and Management Systemization Group (AOMSG), will standardize the process for reporting UAP incidents, as well as “identifying and reducing gaps in operational and intelligence detection capabilities, collecting and analyzing operation, intelligence, and counterintelligence data; recommending policy, regulatory or statutory changes as appropriate; identifying appropriate approaches to prevent or mitigate any risks posed by airborne objects of interest; and other activities as deemed necessary by the Director,” Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks wrote in a memo outlining the new group.
The AOMSG will now take over the work of the Navy’s UAP Task Force. They will be led by a director and overseen by an executive council.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the new Department of Defense group to better grasp what is behind UFO sightings and how much threat they may pose to national security.
- For the American populace to trust the Lord’s rule over the origins and intents of the unexplained aerial phenomena.
- For believers to remember that God is sovereign over the entire universe and to keep their gaze fixed on Him.
